draw_eccentricity_posterior

ell1fit.eccentricity.draw_eccentricity_posterior(ax, eps1, eps2, summary=None, bins=80)

Draw the eccentricity posterior into an existing axis.

The drawing half of plot_eccentricity_posterior(), split out so that a caller assembling a multi-panel figure gets the same panel rather than a second implementation of it that can drift.

Parameters:

axmatplotlib.axes.Axes

Where to draw. Its figure, style and layout are the caller’s business.

eps1, eps2array-like

Paired posterior samples, in physical units.

summarydict, optional

Output of eccentricity_summary(); recomputed with the defaults if not given.

binsint

Histogram bins.

Returns:

dict

The summary used, whether passed in or computed here.
